How PET Speaking is Assessed
- Grammar & Vocabulary: Using a nice range of simple and complex structures + relevant vocabulary.
- Discourse Management: Extending your ideas coherently without too much hesitation.
- Pronunciation: Clear vowel sounds, natural rhythm, and correct word stress.
- Interactive Communication: Agreeing, disagreeing, and inviting conversation.
Examiner Summer Tips
- Extend your answers! Avoid simple "Yes" or "No". Always say "because...".
- For photographs, describe layout first (foreground vs background) before speculating.
- In Collaborative Part, always ask: "What do you think of this option?"
- Don't worry if the examiner stops you! It means the time is finished. Keep smiling!
